Civic Arts Education joins
Diablo Ballet in offering two Diablo
Ballet Summer Intensives this year. These programs include classes
taught by Diablo Ballet's Professional Intermediate Director, Rebecca
Crowell, Diablo Ballet dancers and other distinguished faculty..
The
three-week programs are designed for both intermediate and advanced students ages
11-18 years old with at
least two years of ballet experience. Both levels will perform in an
exciting performance on August 2, 2008, at the Del Valle Theatre in Walnut Creek.

Technique
Barr, center work and allegro
Pointe
All levels welcome. Barre and center work. Designed to
develop technique, strength and confidence
Pas de Deux
The art and technique of partnering, which involves supporting
pirouettes and lifting.
Repertoire
Learn choreography from famous ballets, including new works and
contemporary dance. Character
Folk dance technique in the classical ballet tradition.

The
cost of the program is $600. To ensure your spot, $250 is due
by Monday, May 5, 2008, and the balance is due Monday, July 7, 2008.

placed either in the intermediate or advanced level after their
audition class. Audition class fee is $15.

The
Diablo Ballet Summer Dance Intensive will finish the sessions with an exciting performance consisting of
repertoire, world premiers, modern character and jazz dances.
