Build It!
Instructor:  Sue Scott

What do you do with 15 spools, 10 inches of string and 3 feet of bendable cardboard?  Answer:  Build It!  In this visual art class, you will work as a team to solve various problems.  Create structures that stand tall and design facades that will amaze those who pass by.  Put the laws of physics to the test while creating fun and fabulous sculptures!   Make art that has potential for kinetic movement.  Use teamwork to explore the illusion of space with your artwork, and then tackle the challenge of making art that moves in space.  Be the engineers, architects, designers and more!

CARTOONING CAPERS AND OTHER ILLUSTRATED ADVENTURES
Instructor:  Tim Hancock

Ever want to put your ideas in a comic book?  Think you can create the illustrations for the next great adventure series?  Learn the visual art techniques you need to wow your friends with your own creations!  Create illustrated “choose your own adventure” stories with multiple possible outcomes.  Take your work from character development to full panel design. Learn drawing skills to make your work come to life!  We will cover facial expression, figure drawing and story boarding using pen & ink, brush painting and Prismacolor markers.

CSI
Instructor:  Staff

Here’s your chance to explore, investigate, and experiment with forensic evidence. Analyze fingerprints and determine the components of the mystery ink. Then investigate, and try to solve, a compelling mystery -- “The Case of the Missing Millionaire” – with tests and methods real crime scene investigators might use. Will we find enough hard evidence to determine “who done it”?

DETECTIVE STORIES
Instructor:  Staff

Could the next great mystery writer or legendary detective be among us?  We’ll find out as we develop stories of suspense and intrigue through writing, acting, and interactive games. From the silly to the serious, from Inspector Gadget to Sherlock Holmes, you’ll be the writer, the detective, the suspect, or maybe even the villain.  Trench coats and magnifying glasses optional, creative thinking and fun times required!

HISTORY MYSTERY
Instructor:  Michelle Flynn

Travel back into ancient lands. Our team of explorers will search the clues found in ancient artifacts to decode mysterious messages and unearth forgotten treasures from lost lands.  Create and use visual art pieces to deepen the mystery.  What could these hieroglyphics mean?  Why have these relics been destroyed?  Let’s suit up in our safari gear and chase down secrets from the past!

MAZES, PUZZLES, RIDDLES AND TEASERS
Instructor:  Staff

Can you meet the challenge?  Out-think your opponent.  Use your logic to solve the riddle and create a few of your own.  In this class, you’ll play games and use all different parts of your brain to solve perplexing puzzles.  Play the Brain Relay or solve the dilemma in the guessing game, Whodunit?!  You’ll come out a winner!

Step into the shoes of a world-renowned scientist and spend the summer unraveling a spellbinding mystery. The brilliant anthropologist, Doctor Gallagher, was about to make a groundbreaking discovery when he mysteriously disappeared. Now it’s up to you to join an elite team of researchers to track him down before his nefarious nemesis, Dr. Evander Lowenthal, gets to him first! Using the power of your own imagination, travel to an exotic and exciting world that is unlike any game you have ever played or any theater you will ever see. OBSTACLE COURSES
Instructor:  Staff

OPTICAL ILLUSIONS
